Weekly Music Centre
🎶 Want to keep the music going all year round?
Our Weekly Music Centres give young musicians aged 7–18 the chance to rehearse in real bands, learn new skills, and get stage-ready with the support of our experienced tutors.
Each week, students come together to jam, create, and develop their playing in a fun, supportive environment. All instruments and abilities are welcome — from singers and guitarists to drummers, keyboard players, and brass.
At the end of every term, the bands take to the stage for a live gig at a local York venue, showing off what they’ve achieved to family and friends.
📅 Sessions run during term time:
Tuesdays · 5–7pm — Archbishop Holgate’s School, York
Thursdays · 3:30 –5:30pm — Manor CofE School, York

Christmas Rockgod 2025

29th to 30th December.
We’re open again at Christmas but at the White Rooms during the day.
The White Rooms is a purpose built rehearsal studio in Osbaldwick, York.
Open to ages 7 to 18.
Times are 9.30am until 4pm and from 7pm at the Crescent on the evening of the 30th of December.
Summer rockgod 2026
If you want to perform and compose songs in different popular music styles and
perform a gig on stage then this is the course for you!
The Rockgod Academy workshops are designed to bring together students from 7-18 years old and develop their ensemble skills. Students will work in a band composing and covering songs by their favourite bands or artists. Each band will comprise of a vocalist, rhythm section and horn section (optional) and have their own experienced tutor to assist them.
This course is open to any instrument including: Vocals, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keyboard, Saxophone, Trumpet and Trombone. If you play an instrument, you will need to bring it with you. If you play bass or electric guitar you’ll also need to bring an amplifier. You will be assigned a band at the beginning of the course.
Spaces are limited especially if you are a drummer.
Cost of the course is £180.00
The course is held at Archbishop Holgate’s School in York which is located on the Hull road and is a 5 minute drive from the centre of York and very close to the A64.
The Gig is at the Crescent in the centre of York
